Indonesia - Operations Analyst - Morgan Stanley Asia Limited

Operations support the firm's sales, trading and other business activities and hasdiverse responsibilities, including:

  • Ensuring that all operational risks are recognised and managed
  • Making sure transactions are settled and recorded correctly
  • Providing value-added support in new markets and new products
  • Continually seeking opportunities for improvement and delivering innovative solutions

The role is responsible for providing a broad range of Operational support for the firm's Indonesia based trading desks. The role requires close liaison with the local trading deaks covering equities to facilitate the timely and accurate reconciliations with the IDX, client allocations, client service, settlements and execution of key controls. Given the flexible nature of the team, the incumbent will be expected to complete all these tasks at some point. The team is the main point of contact responsible for handling all Operations support tasks for the Indonesia market. 

 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reconcile daily trading activity executed on the IDX;
  • Reconcile internal books and records vs IDX trading records;
  • Complete trade bookings as needed to both internal and external accounts;
  • Reconcile Operations / Front office books daily and send out relevant reporting;
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate resolution of trade discrepancies (liaison with desk, IT);
  • Facilitate the set up and proper approval of client trading accounts;
  • Indonesian equity product set up,
  • Become involved in projects / strategic work as required;
  • Remain flexible in regard to products dealt with;
  • Liaise with local and global IT teams to ensure that trades flow through MS systems correctly;
  • Collate monthly management reporting data;

Qualifications/experience

  • 1-4 years experience in an Operations role;
  • 1-2 years experience with a global investment bank (Equity Trade Support experience an advantage);
  • 1-2 years experience working with sales/traders;
